make your own crafts, i.e candles, cards etc. and sell them

There are a number of things you can do:

    Teach music/art/crafts from the home
Set up an at home day care
    Sell Tupperware/Avon/Mary Kaye/Usborne books etc. . .
Set up a consulting business that plays to your skills (secretarial, accounting, tax, public speaking)

Really, without knowing your skill set, it’s very difficult to give you a good answer.

I babysit. I advertised on craigslist, believe it or not, and found a really nice family who wanted some childcare for their newborn.

I’m not a licensed daycare provider, just a babysitter, but it’s nice having a little extra money.

You could also try making things and selling them on ebay or etsy but that’s usually very labor intensive. I make crafts, too, and thought about selling them but it’s a lot harder than you would think unless you have a lot of spare tire, extra people to help, or just don’t need sleep.

You can also sell makeup, tupperware, etc.

Well, what qualifications do you have? I stayed at home with mine and wrote computer programs. If your idea of "work" is stacking shop shelves because you never bothered at school and that’s all you’re qualified for, you’ll struggle.

I’m being snippy because a lot of teens read this site. Girls - GO GET SOME DECENT QUALIFICATIONS. IT MATTERS.

  5. Marketing 4 Realtors Says:

Meagan - I recently learned about telemarketing as work-at-home positions. There are legitimate companies available that will train you to be a telemarketer (and pay for your training time), which you can do at home. All you need is a computer, internet access, and a land line. Just search on Google for telemarketing at home.

Also, if you are still into direct selling, perhaps try Avon. I sell Avon so I’m speaking from experience. You don’t have to hold home parties or anything like that. When I started my business last year, I had no friends to sell to (new area). I simply put my books on the doors of all the houses on the streets around mine and people looking for a representative called me.

Finally, think about what you can do with your psychology degree. It’s a shame that you can’t find something to use your degree after working so hard to obtain it. One other thing I’d like to throw out there is for you to do some searching online to find companies requiring your degree who have flexible work hours or job sharing or even day care in their facility. If you can’t find something to do at home to support yourself and your new baby, the next best thing is to take him or her with you!

    I hope this helps!

I work part time, but the women that watches my children while i’m working, also sells Avon, but watches a bunch of different kids, but they are all toddlers and older, and all of them are part time but it works for her.

I started making diaper cakes in my free time, you need a little start up money, like 50 bucks you’ll probally have enough stuff to make a couple, people are willing to pay alot of money for them. and you can advertise on craigslist. its easy, and fun. Check out how to make them on you tube, and search online for ideas. ive seen them go for 50-100+ online, but i’m not into shipping so i’d do craigslist.
