  1. MrDucky [Atheist] LOL Says:

depends how much you piss people off.

if they are moderately amused by you, then you should be fine.

  2. Қєlly Says:

How could they make any money from that? They give that stuff away for free.

  3. JudgeLestyeBeJudged Says:

I have heard you can make tens of dollars.

  4. Araymage Says:

As a NON JW I know they do not charge people for their literature when they approach your house.

  5. A LIFELONG Student Says:

Sorry, I couldn’t refrain. Most Jehovah’s Witnesses make their living from their jobs and businesses or retirement funds, etc. I couldn’t make a living, since I don’t "charge" for literature placement.

  6. Human Being Human Says:

    One hour ?
I;ve got the stop watch running

  7. FireShade Says:

Most of the stuff they take door to door is free and if you want a particular book of theirs but can’t afford it, the local kingdom hall normally provides it free of charge. So I doubt door-knockers many ANY money at all.

*Studied with JW’s for 8 months*

  8. Fireball Says:

no cuz most of us shut the door..

  9. Who I Am Says:

I waited as long as I could, sorry.

No, Jehovah’s Witnesses work secularly. Nobody gets paid for their volunteer services including the elders and ministerial servants of the congregation.

  10. NO FOOL Says:

No and it’s not the JWs agenda to earn a living from it either.

  11. Rick G Says:

LOL - that is a good joke!

No, at best, you get donations to the world wide work that you turn in for those who gave it.

You get NO cut, none of it is YOURS.

You are out of the cost of fuel, bus pass or shoe leather, depending on your means of transportation. Plus you pay for your provisions, coffee, and a donut if you are inclined.

Plus you have the time spent out in the ministry and the time that you spend preparing for that ministry. So, no, you will not make a "living" out of any activity involving the spreading of the Good News.

(2 Corinthians 2:17) 17 [We are;] for we are not peddlers of the word of God as many men are, but as out of sincerity, yes, as sent from God, under God’s view, in company with Christ, we are speaking.

Now, if you asked "Can you make the ministry your Career?", yes you can. We have 100s of thousands who make it their Career to pioneer, devoting 60 to 100 hours a month to the ministry. THEY fund themselves by secular work and draws no payment from any other source.

So, as an unbaptized publisher, depending on what your heart motivates you to do, you can make the ministry your Career.

    @ Fireball

Yep, on the average, if I spend an hour in the ministry, I might get one good conversation. Most people are gone, working, or if it is the weekend, soccer, shopping, etc.

But if I look at it this way, that means I might talk to 50 to 100 people over the course of a year, and give them something to think about that they never expected to hear.

As the ad on tv says "Priceless!"

  12. Fuzzy Says:

The JWs cannot make a living from that and do not do so. Most who receive contributions from people give this to the Wt in the contribution box. In the past, pioneers were able to supplement their meager living allowance or wages with this, but this is not so any longer for most.

This has nothing to do with whether you are teaching the truth or teaching church doctrine. The LDS missionaries gave me their literature for free. So what is the difference. You teach your doctrine through your literature and they teach theirs through their books. Both of your churches teach each church’s doctrine through their own literature, not just Biblical truths.

The individual may not profit for sure, but the church surely does when new adherents join.

  13. Sonny Daye Says:

If you charge lots of money, I suppose you could. They usually give them away for free so you’d have to run into a lot of people with money who have no idea that they could get it for free if they wanted.

  14. tuppence Says:

    Hello, future brother.

Well, it is exactly an hour and I am here, but not for long! My husband and I are just leaving for our memorial.

If we could, then we would not be doing as Jesus said ie I give free so you do also.

I must just say that all the money that we get goes to make further books, so if they stop, then one can question where the money goes!

Your future sister in France, Suzanne

  15. in the truth Says:

we do not charge for our literature. so no we can not make a living out of it.

Im sorry but you are just another person who gets a kick out of spreading lies about us.

i am very sad for you.

i will pray that Jehovah opened your eyes and softens your heart.

  16. Nevada Smith Says:

The literature is free and so is the home Bible study. there is no charge for anything. Donations are accepted but they go to print more literature. Even if we did charge for it, it would be impossible to make a living doing this work. We would have to charge so much that no one would pay for it.

"You received free, give free" Mathew 10:8

  17. Vöt Änårж Says:

Hahahaha- Vot will hush this time round :-D

  18. Wendi888 Says:

No insult intended, but your question is funny and I like it. Make a living giving away literature and free home Bible studies? It’s more "how much does it cost you" doing this work. My sister is a pioneer and has a lot of rural territory. It’s not unusual for her to spend $150 in a week just for the gas she uses.

@ Fireball: So remember this when you slam the door in our face, we do this out of love of God and neighbor. A little respect, please.

And thanks LDa, for pointing out my forgetting to add to whom my last comment was addressed.

  19. Lone Dissenter again Says:

    LOL
    That’s a great question.
I know the JW’s do not charge & I am sure you know that too , your smart trying to find out who thinks they do.

My good sister Wendi888 must have misread your question , I do not see it as an attack , she is a very good sister with a lot of knowledge as if you hang around you will find out but we all slip up from time to time , me most of all.
