I want to earn money during the Easter holidays, but would like to work flexible hours. My idea is to print out a few hundred leaflets advertising my services as a computer maintenance person (ie. to fix computers or help people with problems they are having). I would post these leaflets through letterboxes and possibly put some ads in local papers.

My plan is to charge £20 for the first hour (ie. a callout), then £10 for every hour after that, should the time run over. If I can’t fix the problem to their specification then I will not charge the consumer, but hopefully I will be able to judge whether or not the problem is "fixable" and formulate my plan before starting any work.

Does anyone have any advice on this idea? Please note if you are commenting on my pricing, I will be operating in the London area.
