If they truly want to see the development of cricket then why are they not keen to include it even in the Commonwealth games where so many member countries have cricket teams, let alone Olympics? I was just looking at cricket’s involvement in big sporting events and I found out that Cricket matches in the 1998 CW games have not been given official status by the ICC who have also ruled out any future participation because of "packed cricket schedule"! What’s the point? They said cricket in CW games wasn’t a "successful experiment" but I would blame it on the lack of interest shown by the ICC. What do you fans think about cricket for global events? In Favor or Against?

I want T20 to be in the 2012 olympics (though probably too late now). This is the perfect way to spread cricket to the world. T20 is still new, it’ll be on the world stage and it’s not like England don’t have any cricket grounds or anything….
Though, the downside of this, is, that if other countries do catch on the T20 cricket, they won’t give a hoot about Test cricket.

This way cricket is going backward surely, just think about the previous century when few teams … are thinking only of their own country rather than the greater good of the global game. … ICC is making cricket look more and more like baseball. … And always Tim May is only concerned with Australia’s interest. …

for them it is only and only about the money.
if they wanted to develop the game, they wouldn’t be as biased in their decisions as they are.
they tolerate unsportsmanlike behaviour when it suits them, and fine others.
i think this cricketing body needs to go, and be replaced with a fair and just body.
we do not want a cricket authority that loves money more than the game.
and cricket in global events, why not? as long as the icc doesn’t find a way to make money off that too.
p.s i think ICC is a misnomer. (should be global forum for hypocritical money lovers).

I think the game of cricket cannot progress further because the BCCI is laundering money for their own corrupted deeds. ICC is controlled by BCCI and the effect is showing.

ICC is a weak organisation and is not able to spread cricket even to those countries where there are interest and little bit of infrastructure. IT is not even able to generate money - thanks to BCCI who is responsible for all the money. But then BCCI is adament to kill traditional cricket and kill the golden goose by promoting T-20.
