Way to Survey-Way to make money at home, paid surveys

I am very skeptical of these websites claiming that you can get paid good money by taking surveys online. I know that some survey sites offer rewards, I have tried one that works but it takes too long before you can get a reward. Beside, I don’t really want any gift cards. I would like to get rewarded in cash(checks). So are there any sites like this? Have you personally used it? What are the risks? I have a part time job but I get paid crap.
I don’t know, it’s kind of hard to take the advice from a bunch of faceless avatars. Seems to me like these accounts were quickly created for just this very question. Hmm, suspicious, or am I too cautious?
