Because I saw that there were many earmarks associated with Cap and Trade to fund various programs. I was wondering how they received revenue from Cap and Trade?
OKAY maybe I misunderstand this, but I thought it works like this. Government places limits on each company’s energy use, and the efficient companies trade their permits to the lesser ones. Some of that extra cost is transferred to consumer.

SO WHERE IS THE GOVERNMENT REVENUE FROM THAT SCHEME?

    Cap and Trade will tax industry on carbon emissions. To see what will happen, look at Jimmy Carter’s Wind Fall Taxes… Now you see why people hate it? The burden will go down to us in the form of higher energy prices and taxes.

    It will tax any emissions ABOVE the limit. In other words, it isn’t much and if everyone stays below the limit, they get nothing.

    as long as corporations buy and trade with other corporations and the cap is balanced then the government will make no money, otherwise they will make money off of fines

    The first problem is that Waxman gave away 85% of the revenues for Crap and Tax to special interests (in the form of exemptions) in congressional districts where Waxman needed votes to get that Piece of Sh!t passed…. That’s why Greenpeace was against it…
