  1. Says:

Probably. I don’t know many doctors.

You’re citing a website called "Insurance Journal" to argue against government-regulated health care? Wooooow….

  2. Sadcat Says:

John Edwards’ income pales in comparison to insurance company profits. The insurance companies, not the doctors, are the ones who profit from our current disastrous system.

I’m also pretty sure that the insurance companies are the ones paying to post all these questions.

  3. Shovel Ready Says:

We need tort reform, and we are not going to get it from Democrats.

  4. wisdomforfools Says:

Not sure about the dollar amount, but as much as I despise Edwards, I must defend him as he went up against Big Medicine for the good of the victims of it, they need representation, too. True, he got rich in the process, but that is Capitalism for you.

  5. Nikki Says:

YEs. & you won’t see lawsuit caps in this health care bill.

  6. White House Watching Says:

Yes. He should be the poster child for TORT reform.

  7. Just some Guy Says:

In Canada, and the rest of the free world, judges determine payouts for claims, this stops $600,000,000 claims by cracker juries.

Get your judges to be sensible and many of your problems will go away.

  8. racingdiego@sbcglobal.net Says:

Most likely. he is an "ambulance chaser" lawyer.

And tort cases are one of the main reasons healthcare costs are so high! and most doctors are so afraid to even PRACTICE.

  9. The Patriot Says:

    Possibly.

Remember, Obama was elected to make insurance more available for all, not to act on insurance payouts.

FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.

FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.

That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

Come 2012, you can vote for someone who will address this.

  10. Peace through blinding force Says:

Yes. Edwards made a fortune unmatched by most corporations, mostly by getting vast awards on "science" that had already been long-proved to be bogus.
His specialty is lying to juries to persuade them to make him RICH BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION by driving-up medical costs.
