I am not saying some "investors don't" I mean if you think about it many people like Buffet who invest in businesses because they are good businesses and because of that they are GOING To have to make money in the end if they are truly good businesses. Just like Wal-Mart has never gone down for any lengthy period EVEN now, why? They have a wicked businesses model of taking over the market-they have since day one; hence they are a good business "for the stockholders not their competition". Now I know there are people out there that saying that well some people can just make quick in and out trades to make a QUICK BUCK here and there; they cut their losses short and they know how to limit risk etc. etc. Is this true? Are their actually people who can trade for a living? For some reason it sounds like crap to me because I have never met any rich traders only investors. Can someone explain?

Well of course people make money trading, but they are well seasoned, they know exactly how stocks work, and what the underlying forces are behind securities, 90% of the public do not understand the underlying momentum of securities, you cant trade randomly and think you are going to make money, seasoned traders make calculated trades that provide calculated returns this is the difference, there is no mathematical formula, it's like being a surgeon, you have to diagnose the patient then move forward that's how it works, with out the proper training you can not diagnose the patient now can you. It takes years of training to understand market dynamics, and the funny thing is no one is going to train you, http://www.investor-relations-firm.com

In the market today, the only ones making money are the traders. The investors sure are not. Every time I have done swing trading, I have made money. I am doing it now to make up for my long term investment losses which are whoppers. I do not normally do so because of the tax consequences, but currently there are none.

Of course there are. It is investing but with a short term outlook. With the markets crashing up and down so violently the moves within a day are what was typical for the moves within a month.

George Soros is one famous trader who is known for making very profitable short-term bets. On one famous occasion he made one billion dollars in one day. He is a billionaire now. And there are plenty of other traders who make a living out of it but aren't quite as famous as George Soros is.
