My husband is self employed and has been for 19 years. I have NO idea how much money he makes. I ask and he says, why do you need to know or I told you, 300 dollars a week, that is what he tells the IRS he makes. I know we dont live off $300 dollars a weeks as our helath insurance is $1100 a month. We have two homes, both paid for, he paid cash for our other house, which is next door and used for storage for his store. We have no car payments, paid cash for those, too. He has no credit card debt, he does believe in paying interest. I know that I am fortunate to not have to worry about money and I know that I or my children want for absotluely nothing. But I know he lies to me,. I know there are several bank accounts, some with his mothers name and his on them.. His mother is a whole other story, but just quickly, she is the most controlling person I have or will ever meet in my life, she tries to come off as the sweet old granny but she truly a mean person. She did not allow her 15 and 16 year old to have anything to do with their father for 25 years, now his brother and sister too for 5 years. She and her x owned a bar and when they divorced she got pretty much everything, the house, kids 1/2 the bar and the 62 mint corvette in the garage (the only thing she says her x wanted, she still uses it as a “in your face object” 25 years later. Anyhow she tore him a new you know what and I think that is why my husband will not tell me how much he makes. Everybody I talk to tells me I am an idiot for putting up with him. Shouldn’t I know the truth about how much money is made in our family, and does anyone think it is weird that he does not and will not tell me! Thanks
I know that the 300 he claims to pay himself is probably true as Uncle Sam is not thee emptying the cash register every night, If he truly made that we would have 100 dollars left ober after we pay blue cross their unbelievable payment of 1100. Sometimes I think he thinks I am just plan dumb. We have expenses at both houses. We have taxes, car insurance, school tuition, groceries, etc… and 100 dollars just aint cutting it. I kind of think he is protecting himself from a divorce should it ever happen. And as fro child support he would NEVER let his kids go without, I can' go back to work as he works 7 days a week, he only takes off Christmas, New Years and Easter. He worlks half day on Christmas Eve, thats my big breal from the home. The only sitter he lets me have for the kids is his mother and physically she cant do it. I do have a 13 year old niece that could do it but he and his mom do not talk to their sister/daughter any more and his mom said the niece could not sit!
