It's easy! Take one to two years learning trading and investing. To do otherwise is simply gambling.
BTW: After teaching yourself the basics (in one to two years), try to read a new book every one or two months.

Well, to put it simply, you buy low and sell high…
That aside, it is very complicated and difficult to learn all the nuances. I am trying to learn them myself, too. I would recommend going to Borders Books or Barnes and Noble and reading a bit out of some of the books, then buy one or two to study from.
Also, there are often courses at the library or community college that may help; and of course, many brokers offer training; but be mindful - they view their training as part of their sales, the goal being to generate more revenue, not more learned clientel.
Good luck with your trading!
