I'm a graphic designer, and I take lots of photos and I do a lot of illustrations too. Is it worth me listing them on istockphoto.com? Could I earn a nice little side income from it? thanks!

Probably not. Sites like Istockphoto basically take advantage of people and you get paid very little per photo. In order to make any money you would have to sell hundreds of photos. Many of the legitimate stock photo agencies will not accept any of your work if you have it listed on micro stock sites like Istockphoto.
If you work is good and meets to qualifications look at Getty Images or Alamy. If your work is accepted here you can make a good amount of money.
