Dude, first off I am not some random 14 year old, and we're not customers, because we're not buying anything. I never said 'make good money' all I said was "pay well", and even if I was buying something, that would make me a customer, and I think my opinion is as valuable as any others. I just want to know about any survey or research groups which pay 14 year olds to participate in.

I make $18.50 an hour, I live in Huntington Beach which is located in Orange County (Southern California). We all know how expensive it is to live here, but my question is do I make a decent amount of money? I get paid bi-weekly which brings in $1,140 every check with a total of $2,280 a month.

I have a truck payment which is $485 a month, my car insurance is $125 a month, Cell phone is around $75 a month (Features and stuff, IE Text messaging, Navigator, ect) which is all stuff I use on a daily/weekly basis. I live with my mom until I can save enough to move out with my girlfriend and I only pay her $200 a month for food/rent whatever. It costs around $70 to fill my gas tank every week and a half or so, I have a credit card which only has $750 left on it, I pay 100-200 a month on that. There are a few other misc expenses here and there but you get the point.
Have I just created a lot of expensive bills for myself? Or do I just not make very much money? My review is coming up in January which I am going to ask for a 2 dollar raise during. My work is very hard (I work in Legal Contracts for a very large company) and I believe I deserve more money for the work load I have dropped on me every week but that’s a little off subject for the question.

What do you think? Should I be happy with what I make right now? I am going to ask for a raise regardless because like everyone else I want to be compensated for the hard work I put in every day, I just wanted your opinions on it.
There is a part of me that thinks I have just lived a little high for the past couple of years, with an expensive car, rims, ect…but I never go OUT of my means. The issue is that I seem to not have much money to spend on myself each month. For example, I would like to put a custom alarm in my truck ($300), I’d like to upgrade my old cell phone to a nice LG Voyager ($300) and I’d like to purchase a new pair of sunglasses…($90). Am I being unreasonable? I believe like most do that when you put in hard work you should be able to treat yourself to certain things.. it just seems that lately I do not have that luxary, who likes working to pay their bills only? I have a girlfriend but she doesn’t take much money at all, I mean yeah I buy her flowers at least once a month and take her on a few dates and stuff but other than that, she makes her own money and does her shopping with that money, never asks me for a dime.

Thanks as always for your opionions,

Dom.
1) I'm 23, no college It's not for me. I can make a lot of money where I'm at, I've only been here for a year so I have to wait to earn more but there are people my age making $24 an hour with no college and it's gonna go up even more later on.

2) My roomate would be my girlfriend, and I still have $27,000 to pay off on my car lol… Don't quite wanna live with my mom until I'm 28-29 (5 year loan).
I have a 401k here at work so I am saving money, I said in the question "Other expenses as well" that includes savings and what not.

Text messaging and Navigation NOT WEB, like for driving directions are $10 a month. I can't drive any less than I do, I work 13 miles from home in a lot of traffic.

I was not asking for anyone to help me buget my money, I was simply asking if in other peoples eyes do I make good money? In my own eyes I see I do not make very much, but in others eyes it may look different.

Everything you mentioned are things I do except for the silly sink funds and crap like that. Everything I HAVE now are things I get 100% use of every single day.

I may not have NEEDED a nice truck but I've worked my a** off since I was 15 and deserve to drive a nice car for the hard work I do. And no I won't buy $1 sunglasses that will break within a week and not protect my eyes from the sun, I don't have 7 kids living on welfare for christ sake lol.
