just cheat.. theres a glitch where you shoot an arrow at a wall, but in mid shot you pause and switch arrows and then drop an item or something, anyways makes it so if you had 5 of that item (say an expensive potion) and 10 arrows, they multiply, and 50 potions drop on the ground, yours for the selling.
look it up works great infinite stuff and moneys =p

If your gunna cheat be careful, dont put more than 3 actual codes in otherwise your game sorta implodes on itself and refuses to save…i found out the hard way.

If you're playing on PC there's a mod which makes all of the vendors carry more gold which I would suggest. It's not cheating really since you still have to have items to sell it just allows you to actually sell items for what they're worth.
Anyways, without that mod or the expansions/content downloads then the most money a vendor is going to have is about 1500g so you can't make any more than that off a single item. Some vendors have more but will only but certain item types.
Do quests. Quests send you to areas that are full of good and often magical items.
Looting random objects is rarely profitable so only loot equipment, scrolls, potions, ingredients, gems, and obviously gold. Sell all of your loot to ONE vendor if possible. Selling to one vendor gets you the best buy/sell prices since your disposition with that person will ultimately become very good. Early on in the game you won't be finding very expensive items since all of the loot is leveled but just loot everything you can carry and sell it for the most you can get for it.
If you can't carry very much stuff then buy the feather spell and enchante 2 rings and an amulet with the most feather that you can and have those with you for carrying loot out. I actually have a whole set of glass armor enchanted with feather that I always have on me for carrying loot out. The game will also remember things for a quite a while so you can usually go back and grab whatever you couldn't carry out on the first trip.
Potion making/selling is a pretty decent way of making money too. There's so many ingredients and they're so easy to come by that you can easily make 100 potions at a time and even selling them all for 10g makes you some good money.

easyest money is join the mages quild and clean out the guild halls, lots of alchemy apparatus,ingrediants,books etc laying around free for the taking
